Honeycomb

Once upon a time, I had a beehive. Back then, a lot of my friends did. We'd get together and have honey gathering parties. We'd go from house to house with the extractor and work every one's bees. I have some pictures somewhere. One day I'll have to scan them in and post them.
Honeycomb has always fascinated me. The design. The texture. And of course, the honey. How I miss those days~

I just posted a necklace in my shop with vintage beads that look like honeycomb to me. Guess that's what got me thinking about the past and taking that walk down Memory Lane.
Until next time.....

Crystal Lake in Winter

Each season brings new wonders up at Crystal Lake.
Winter is a great time to camp, although it does get cold in the tent, according to our LL Bean travel alarm clock equipped with our trusty thermometer.
The bare boned landscape is gorgeous. Shades of brown and gray, highlighted by the brightest of blue skies. Nothing more. Nothing less. And NO bugs!
Spring is just around the corner. Soon the mountain will awaken and the neutral tones will give way to greens and flowery hues. And bugs!
Until next time.....
