The Black Walnut Ink Experiment

I purchased some black walnut ink from my friends Joanne and Alex a while back. Now that the holidays are behind me, I've had some time to experiment with the ink. I dyed some bone beads. You can see the results above. I love the way they came out. I have plans to throw a few more items into the dye pot.
There are a couple of pieces listed in my shop. You can find them here. And you can find the ink for sale here.
I am also going to dye with indigo. Stay tuned.
Until next time.....

Hope to see you there!

Gearing Up For Valentine's Day

We woke up with a reading of 0 degrees this morning. I got dressed and went outside to feed the birds. I'm sure that made them very happy. It was really nice to be out there, in that cold weather, for a short amount of time. It was nicer to be working in the studio, on the south side of the house, with the sun streaming in the windows.

I've been working on some Valentine's Day jewelry. It can be found here.
I'll be adding more pieces in the coming weeks, so check back in to see what's new.
Stay warm!
Until next time.....

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year y'all!
This has been quite the holiday season. It's more like the holiday season that wasn't. Read on..............
I got all of my Etsy orders shipped, with a note in the shop saying that I was slowing down to enjoy the holiday season. Well, I slowed down alright. I woke up on the 21st, ready to deck the halls and have a bake-a-thon, with a sore throat. By the next day, I was questioning whether I had the flu or not. Well, I did. I was sick as a dog. For days! Right through Christmas and beyond. December 30th was my first day out of the house. I'm slowly coming back around, except for an occasional coughing spell.
I haven't had the flu since I was a kid. And I don't want it again. I've never been one for flu shots, but I believe that I'm going to get one now.
Here's to a happy, prosperous, HEALTHY New Year!
Until next time.....

Sliding Into The Holiday Season

I got the last of my jewelry orders shipped out this week and the sign is up in my shop alerting buyers that future orders will not make it on time for Christmas. It's time for me to slow down. To clean and decorate. To bake (and eat). To enjoy the lights and be with loved ones.
Happy Holidays from Tennessee.....
