Spider Web Season
Summer's ending and spider web season is beginning. I love seeing all of the different kinds of webs. The ones in this photo remind me of flying saucers. They float on the branches of our pine trees.
One of my favorite vintage beads are spider web beads. They are glass beads, referred to as Cherry Brand beads, and were made by hand in Japan between 1945- 1952. I have a large collection of them and enjoy using them in my designs. I love their organic look. You can find them in the shop in my 'Vintage Laced Jewelry' collection.

September
The summer garden is slowly coming to an end. We're still getting plenty of peppers and eggplants and dried shelling beans. The fall garden is planted and growing with the help of sprinklers. It's been dry here lately. You'd never know it by looking at the flowering vines that grow up the trellises that surround the main garden. They make a beautiful wall that is loved by bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. And me. Now that's a wall that I can stand behind!
