Variety Is The Spice Of Life
Happy October everyone! Weren't we just welcoming in September?
After several requests, I am now offering my signature arrow necklaces with cable chain. You can find them in this section. I have silver and bronze arrows wrapped with black wire listed separately and will be listing more. You can always buy one of the other colors and leave me a note when you check out letting me know that you'd prefer the cable chain. Don't forget to leave your desired length.
Until next time.....

New Additions To The Shop
I spent a few days last week cleaning the studio. It was long overdue, but it feels so good to have that task behind me. I do love rummaging through my supplies. There are times when I come across something that I forgot about. Those are the best surprises.
Now that there is plenty of workspace (for now), I've been spending time in there. It feels good to be sitting at my work table again. There are a few new things in the shop. Look for more to come.
Until next time.....

Happy Fall Y'all!
It's a beautiful first day of Autumn, here in middle Tennessee. 50*F when we awoke. Sunny and breezy outside now. The windows are open. The mockingbird is singing. It was a beautiful summer, but I sure am glad that Fall has arrived.
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup ~ July 18
Some of our garlic
Fried green tomatoes anyone?
zukes and eggplants. These were excellent on the grill!
Pickling cucumbers and my new gadget. An OXO mandoline. How did I ever survive without it?
Bring on the tomatoes!
Beginning to harvest onions.
The corn is looking really promising. Shhhh! Don't tell the deer and the groundhogs.
The weather here has been Incredible, with a capital I! Cool, no humidity, light rain. Windows are open. Pants and long sleeve shirts have been used and it's July. I'm happy. The gardens are happy.
We're starting to harvest and put up food every day. Meals are planned around what's coming in that day. Those of you with gardens know how good I'm feeling.
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup ~ July 3
Tomatillo
Summer Squash Bed
Main Garden
Rattlesnake Pole Beans
Tomatoes. Forgot to see what variety I was photographing.
Roma Tomatoes
Pickling Cucumbers
Sweet Corn.
Fennel.
Lemongrass and Calendula.
Japanese Eggplant.
It's been a fabulous gardening season so far. The garden is weeded, mulched, fed, staked and thanks to Mother Nature - watered. It's so nice having fresh vegetables again. With our Spring garden harvested and behind us, we're concentrating on the Summer crops.
This is my first time growing fennel. And my first time growing lemongrass from seed. Both seem to be thriving. Those Japanese eggplants are new too. For some reason all of our eggplants sets died. We started three varieties. I have no idea why. I went to a local greenhouse and bought the two varieties that they had. I think these Japanese ones will be great on the grill!
Cucumbers are one of my favorite garden veggies. I eat a cucumber sandwich every morning for breakfast, while they last. The pickling cukes are starting to come in. I made my first batch of kosher dills today.
We'll be spending the 4th at home; grillin', chillin' and picklin' cukes.
Enjoy the weekend!
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup
New growth on the Bay plant.
I always grow petunias. The scent reminds me of my grandmother. She grew them every year.
Clematis.
Cilantro/Coriander flowering.
The main garden.
Cucumbers and beans. I put up fencing around them in hopes to keep the groundhog and rabbits out.
Pickling cukes.
We finally finished planting the garden. I fed everything with fish emulsion and liquid seaweed. Yesterday it rained. Perfect timing! We're expecting rain for the next several days. Afterwards, we'll mulch the plants with leaves that we've been hauling from town.
It feels so good to be gardening again. This time of year, I live and breathe gardening. My Etsy shop has been put on a back burner this past month, but I hope to get back in the swing of things come June.
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup
Iris
Baby thrasher. First day out of the nest.
Chives, tomato plants, misc seedlings
Some of our tomato plants
Chamomile beginning to bloom
Lettuce
The Spring gardens took a beating from the strong storms that passed through here recently. Some things got flooded. Only time will tell if they make it or not. It's getting to be close to impossible to harvest a Spring garden. The weather has been wild these past few years. At least we can replant these crops in the fall.
I've been busy feeding and weeding and tilling and thinning and transplanting and planting and and and. I do love this time of year!
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup ~ Earth Day
Tomato Seedlings
Chive Blossoms
New Rosemary Plant
Last Fall's Spinach
One of the gardens
I've been tilling bags of leaves in this past week.
It's been a busy week around the gardens. It seems like everything greened up all at once. For now, I'm caught up; something I can't say very often this time of year.
I should be able to have some time to hit the studio and work on some new designs this week. It will be a nice break, assuming that I can keep myself indoors.
Enjoy Earth Day.
Until next time.....

Garden Roundup
Pansies
Garlic
Snowdrops
Fuschia
Daylily and violets
New lavender plant
What beautiful weather we've had this week. My attention turned towards the gardens, beginning with tuning up Troy, my Troybilt tiller, and replacing two oil seals and one gasket. The ground dried out enough yesterday and Troy and I took a spin around some of the beds.
I planted peas, onions, spinach, kale, chard, pak choi and beets. I transplanted tomato seedlings into the next size flat and started some shallots.
A trip to the garden center was also on my to do list. I came home with a fuschia plant, a new lavender plant (my old one didn't make it this past winter), a new thyme plant (also didn't make it) and another oregano plant.
I woke up this morning tired and sore, but happy that spring is here!
Until next time.....

And Today
It's a beauty of a day. Sunny. Warm. Productive. I started all of our seeds. Weeded the iris bed. Sat and stared at the Bradford Pears. They are in full bloom and are just gorgeous. Don't you agree?
Until next time.....

Yesterday
They were calling for a few flurries in the area yesterday. They never mentioned that it would start snowing so hard that you couldn't see 25 feet in front of you. It was nice while it lasted, but quickly melted. Gotta love the springtime in the southland.
Until next time.....
