Open For Beadness
Now that the holidays are behind us, I re opened my Etsy deStash shop. I closed the doors in November so that I could slow down and enjoy the holiday season. Last night it felt right to put the lights back on. I'm slowly but surely re listing expired items and photographing and listing new ones. I use this shop strictly for deStash. I don't buy beads in bulk to resell. There are times when I make a purchase and decide later that I don't like what I bought or I simply don't use that particular treasure anymore. It's nice to have the bead shop at times like this. I even turned on direct checkout for those of you that don't like or don't have PayPal. Click here and you'll magically appear at the door. Check back often. You never know what you'll find.
Until next time.....

Black is Black

It's that time of the year to start bringing back the black clothes and accessories. I love to wear black, but ever since we adopted Althea, it is almost impossible to leave the house without white cat fur somewhere on me. I don't want to go out looking like the crazy cat lady, which I am not. Seems like by now, I should own stock in pet hair rollers.
I've been stocking my bead shop with black beads and have listed some new black jewels in my jewelry shop. Just in time for Halloween; one of my fave times of the year.

Falling.....

I love this time of year! Summer slowly starts coming to an end and Autumn begins to awaken. It's my favorite time of the year. After a long hot summer, I get to sit back and enjoy the fruits (and veggies) of my labor. Cinnamon infused desserts start to fill our home with added warmth.
I have more time for my online shops. I've had fun making a few Halloween themed earrings. You can see them in my Etsy shop. Just click on the collage above. They are all OOAK.
I've been stocking my deStash shop with autumn colored beads too. I've really been into skull beads this year. I mean, I've always been into skulls (Dead Head), but this year I've been searching for them and adding them to my stash. I am parting with a few though. You can find them in my shop. Just click on the collage below.

It's 6:15 PM. It's been raining today, so the sky is grey. It's fairly dark outside. Althea is curled up in the corner, sound asleep and snoring with a smile on her face. We're both waiting for Papa John to get home. He doesn't know it, but tomorrow I'm baking him a pie with some of last years pumpkin that I put up. I can't wait to smell the cinnamon.
Until next time.....

Signs of Autumn
Remember me? I've been MIA for a while now. Sometimes life gets in the way and the blog goes on the back burner. But, Fall is in the air and I should have more time to blog once again.
I'm typing with 9 fingers. Yesterday, while drilling through bullet shell casings, the drill slipped and well, I'll save the details. Good news is that I had a small bit in at the time and I didn't drill all the way through my finger.
I've got lots of news to tell, but will save that for another day.
I'm so glad that Autumn is making her appearance once again. It's been a long, hot Summer.
Some signs of Autumn in my neck of the woods:
Cool mornings
Double digit temperatures
Foggy mornings
Open windows
Blue jays are back
Peppers are ripening
Summer garden is winding down
Garden is tilled and ready to plant the Fall garden
We will be able to go camping again!
Autumn banners in my Etsy shops
Fall colored beads in my deStash shop
Autumn themed jewelry in my jewelry shop
Labor Day weekend
So, what are the signs of Autumn surrounding you?
Until next time.....

Spring Flower Beads

I have a limited edition of some of my fave flower and leaf beads in my deStash shop. I may be adding more varieties, although I'm not sure. I'm getting to the point where I want to hold onto most of them. Quantities of vintage beads are limited and once they're gone, they're gone. Unless someone unearths another dusty, dark bead warehouse.
Click on the bead collage to get to my shop. Have a look around. If you see something you like, you should grab it before someone else does.
I've got one eye on the treasury, that is standing at 333! Better put the other eye on it.
Until next time.....

Recycling Beads From My Studio To Yours

I'm cleaning 'house' and adding new beads and findings to my Etsy deStash shop. I use that shop to deStash beads and findings that I don't want or need, and trust me, I have a lot of them! Stop on by.
Until next time.....

Mookite Love

Long before I fell in love with vintage beads, I used to work with gemstones. There are still some stones that I'm drawn to and pull out of my stash every once in a while. Mookite is one of them.
Nothing screams Autumn more than Mookite to me. So many different colors. I love them all. They remind me of Indian corn. Each one is different. I remember the year that I grew Indian corn in my garden. Every ear that I opened was a surprise. You never knew what you would find when you peeled back the husk.

I just finished a necklace and listed it in my jewelry shop. I also listed four extra strands in my deStash shop. Click on the pictures to get to them.
Yep, Autumn is rolling in. Today is dark, rainy, cool. It's a soup day. It's a Mookite day.
Until next time.....

Like The Weather
Woah! What a week for unusual weather. I have to keep reminding myself that it is July and at any moment, the hot, humid Tennessee summer could and will return. We still have the dog days of summer ahead of us.
But for now, we've had RAIN, low temps with cool mornings and low to no humidity. I've even been chilly a few morns. And there's been a lot of spider webs in the shrubs.
Guess that's why I pulled out some Autumn beads and listed them in my deStash shop. And I ordered some gorgeous autumn colored vintage glass beads today. No, I do not have enough already. Even the jewelry that I've been making hints of Fall.

We've got a weekend forecasting rain and it's not supposed to hit 90 all next week. I can get used to this.
Until next time.....
