New Pine Cone Necklace
I love pine cones! We have several different trees on our property that produce cones. I gather them up for winter decorating; both indoors and out.
When I came across these vintage Lucite pine cones, I had to have them! Vintage AND pine cones. Score!
This is the second necklace listed in my shop. Same as the other one, but with a vintage black enameled chain. I will have several for sale. I will also be keeping one for me. :)
Until next time.....

Shadow Shot Sunday
I was photographing jewelry for my Etsy shop the other day. Part of the bead board was in the sun and some jewelry was sitting on it, waiting for their turn. I saw the shadows and thought to myself "hey I should take one for SSS". Here's one of them. To see what the necklace really looks like, click on the photo.
For more shadowy goodness, go here:
Have a great week!

Honeycomb
Once upon a time, I had a beehive. Back then, a lot of my friends did. We'd get together and have honey gathering parties. We'd go from house to house with the extractor and work every one's bees. I have some pictures somewhere. One day I'll have to scan them in and post them.

Honeycomb has always fascinated me. The design. The texture. And of course, the honey. How I miss those days~
I just posted a necklace in my shop with vintage beads that look like honeycomb to me. Guess that's what got me thinking about the past and taking that walk down Memory Lane.
Until next time.....

Cause there ain't no cure.....
.....for the summertime blues. Unless it's green. Two of my favorite colors. If you saw my bead stash, you'd agree.
I'm settling into my summer work schedule, which means that I'm indoors most days, when I'm not working elsewhere, during the hottest part of the afternoon.
I finally have some new pieces to add to my shop. And I have so many more ideas to work out that have been floating around in my head.
Have a great weekend.
Until next time.....

Crystal Lake in Winter
Each season brings new wonders up at Crystal Lake.
Winter is a great time to camp, although it does get cold in the tent, according to our LL Bean travel alarm clock equipped with our trusty thermometer.
The bare boned landscape is gorgeous. Shades of brown and gray, highlighted by the brightest of blue skies. Nothing more. Nothing less. And NO bugs!
Spring is just around the corner. Soon the mountain will awaken and the neutral tones will give way to greens and flowery hues. And bugs!
Until next time.....

Waterfall
'May This Be Love' (Waterfall)
by Jimi Hendrix
Waterfall
Nothing can harm me at all
My worries seem so very small
With my waterfall
I can see
My rainbow calling me
Through the misty breeze
Of my waterfall
Some people say
Daydreaming's for all the
Lazy minded fools
With nothin' else to do
So let them laugh, laugh at me
So just as long as I have you
To see me through
As long as I have you
Waterfall
Don't ever change your ways
Fall with me for a million days
Oh, my waterfall
*****
What is it about waterfalls? I never met a waterfall that I didn't love. I had two of them at my old farm. Ice cold, spring fed waterfalls. They make the perfect summer shower!
Until next time.....

Aqua Terra Jasper
I've been working with vintage beads for several years now. All of a sudden, I started to stray and found myself looking at gemstone beads on Etsy. I came across some Aqua Terra Jasper beads that I could not stop looking at. I'd go back to the shops that I favorited and gaze at those beads. I love blues, browns and greens and any bead that have those colors in them. So, it was no wonder that I was so drawn to those beads. I ended up buying them and some others. There's a change comin'~

Periwinkle Horizon

Ever notice how many shades of blue the sky has when you're at the beach? Well I have. I was sitting in my chair one day and looked out at the horizon and the sky was the prettiest shade of periwinkle blue.
I tend to equate those times to pieces of jewelry. This being one of them.
Until next time.....

Where There's Smoke.....
And the smell of wood smoke~
I love the smell of woodsmoke. This time of year, it's a scent that is around every corner out here. People are firing up the wood stoves and fireplaces, trying to keep warm. It's been unseasonably cold. And no, I'm not complaining. I do like cold weather. But, I like it better when it's accompanied by snow. We did have a morning full of flurries, which looked beautiful. But I still long for a real snow and so I sit here patiently; waiting to go out into the clear, crisp air to enjoy the snow. The cold weather has given me a good excuse to stay put and work on some new pieces for my shop. This one is getting listed this evening. It is appropriately called 'Where There's Smoke'.
It's been a while since we went up to Crystal Lake. I miss my fire pit, rolling with smoke. I have a feeling that I'll be pulling out quite a few gray beads.
Until next time.....

Love Is In The Air
So, in between packing away the last of the holiday decorations and weeding through the new gardening catalogs that just arrived, I'm listing hearts in my jewelry shop. I also have flowers and white chocolate and other treats. There's even some in my deStash shop. They are all OOAK (one of a kind), so if you see something that catches your eye, you should grab it now. I'm in the Valentine's Day Gift Guide, I purchased a Holiday Showcase for January 10 and I'm going to try to get a Valentine Showcase when they're announced. Time to spread the love. After all, love is in the air~
Until next time.....
